Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer

Eliot Hamlisch serves as Executive Vice President (EVP), Chief Commercial Officer at Amtrak. Since joining the company in September 2023, Eliot has led Amtrak’s commercial transformation, with a steadfast focus on enhancing the customer experience and delivering a more seamless, modern journey for travelers on America’s Railroad. Under his leadership, Amtrak achieved record-breaking performance in FY 2025, including the highest ridership and revenue in company history.

He oversees Amtrak’s full Commercial portfolio, which includes Revenue Management, Sales & Distribution, Loyalty & Customer Engagement, Customer Care, Insights & Market Research, Digital & Brand Management, Service Planning, Product Development & Customer Experience, Real Estate Development & Major Stations and Business Development, as well as Commercial oversight of Amtrak’s three service lines (Northeast Corridor, Long Distance and State Supported). Eliot’s integrated, data-driven approach continues to position Amtrak for sustained growth and further modernization, stronger customer satisfaction and long-term commercial success.

Prior to joining Amtrak, Eliot served as EVP and Chief Marketing Officer of AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc., the world’s largest theatrical exhibition company and an industry leader in innovation and operational excellence. In his role, Eliot was accountable for driving attendance and market share at AMC theatres, optimizing revenue, serving as the company’s principal customer advocate and acting as custodian of the guest experience.

Earlier in his career, Eliot served as EVP of Loyalty and Revenue Optimization at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with 9,000+ hotels across nearly 100 countries and 22 iconic brands. His oversight spanned the company’s award-winning loyalty program (Wyndham Rewards), customer engagement, loyalty, credit card, partnerships, distribution and revenue management functions. Previously, Eliot served as Wyndham’s Head of Global Sales, generating more than $1 billion in annual revenue across the company’s worldwide hotel portfolio.

Eliot began his career with progressive leadership roles in strategic planning, business development and customer engagement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Deloitte Consulting and American Express.

Eliot graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University and received his Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
