There are two buses that run every 15 minutes between the Santa Fe Depot and the San Diego Zoo. The buses are operated by the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (SDMTS).

• Mid-City Rapid 215: After stepping off the train, walk through the station building and board at the stop right outside the station along Kettner Boulevard Ride for five stops (15 minutes) to Park Boulevard and Zoo Place. From there, the zoo is about a four-min walk. For the return trip, the bus stop is located adjacent to the parking lot on Park Boulevard.
• Route 7: After stepping off the train, walk along W B Street and turn right on Front Street (around an 8-min walk). The bus stop is right on the corner. Ride for 10 stops (15 minutes) to Park Boulevard and Zoo Place. From there, the zoo is about a four-minute walk. for the return trip, the bus stop is located adjacent to the parking lot on Park Boulevard.

Travel to the zoo by car. The trip takes less than 10 minutes from the downtown area.
