Community Outreach

Amtrak understands business diversity is not only a business necessity that plays a vital role in the service we provide, but a social imperative that extends beyond company boundaries. Our belief is that business diversity is an invaluable ingredient in being a responsible corporate citizen. When put in perspective, our communities define who we are as a company.

When Amtrak thinks of diverse communities, we think of potential workforce talent, business partners and customers. Because the community impacts us in so many ways, we find it only natural to want to give back. Whether it’s hosting a community job fair or conducting a local blood drive, Amtrak continuously cultivates relationships with a variety of organizations including schools, community agencies, sport affiliations, the military and other professional organizations that specialize in targeting various demographics and diverse communities. These partnerships are vehicles that allow us to do whatever we can to benefit the communities we serve.

Many employees share this philosophy, thus volunteer their time and service to support a variety of organizations for the greater good of our communities. By sharing our time, our talent and other resources, Amtrak strives to maintain our duty of being a responsible corporate citizen. To date, our list of community partners is extensive and continues to grow. Here are just a few organizations we have or currently partner with:
