Indiana-Illinois Connecting Bus Service Restored with New Carrier

Effective November 7, 2025

Jefferson Lines Inc. will operate a daily connecting bus service between the Amtrak stations in Indianapolis (IND) and Galesburg, Ill. (GBB), with stops also at Amtrak stations in Illinois at Champaign-Urbana (CHM) and Bloomington-NormaI (BNL). The buses will also make Illinois stops in Danville (DVI, Shell Station, 379 Lynch Rd.) and Peoria (PIA, CityLink Transit Center, 407 SW Adams St.). The Indiana stop is in Eastern Time, the Illinois stops are in Central Time.

Tickets are available from Amtrak with connections with these Amtrak stations and trains:

Indianapolis: Cardinal (three-days-weekly)
Champaign-Urbana: Saluki/Illini, City of New Orleans (all daily)
Bloomington-Normal: Lincoln Service/Missouri River Runner, Texas Eagle (all daily)
Galesburg: Southwest Chief, California Zephyr, Carl Sandburg/Illinois Zephyr (all daily)

Westbound – Bus 8893 (daily)

Cardinal train arrives Indianapolis on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 5:15 am

Depart Danville at 7:00 am
Depart Champaign at 7:50 am
Depart Bloomington-Normal at 9:00 am
Depart Peoria at 9:55 am
Arrive Galesburg at 10:50 am
