Empire Service Schedule Changes

Effective April 28, 2025

To accommodate ongoing tunnel infrastructure work in New York, Empire Service schedules will change beginning April 28. Schedule times listed on Amtrak.com have been updated to reflect these changes.

Service Changes Beginning April 28

 

Trains 235 and 238 will be suspended during construction.

10 daily Southbound trains between Albany and New York will remain available.

10 daily Northbound trains between New York and Albany will remain available.

Adirondack and Maple Leaf trains will combine into one train between New York City and Albany with an extended layover in Albany.

Empire Service, Adirondack and Maple Leaf schedule times may adjust up to 30 minutes earlier or later.

Amtrak is continuing to collaborate with our state and commuter partners to evaluate the service plan, including creating additional seating capacity, restoring service or modifying it based on the construction schedule for the East River Tunnel.
