The 2016 Super Bowl will take place on February 7, 2016, at the Levi Stadium. Activities surrounding this event will affect passengers traveling to and from San Francisco Thruway bus stops from January 23 through February 12, 2016, as described below:

All weekend and weekday Thruway bus service to and from San Francisco bus stops (except the Transbay Temporary Terminal), will be suspended from January 23 through February 12, 2016. The Thruway buses connect with Capitol Corridor, San Joaquin, Coast Starlight and California Zephyr trains at either Emeryville or Oakland. Service will be suspended at the following stops:

  • Financial District
  • Moscone Center
  • Shopping Center
  • Caltrain
  • Civic Center
  • Pier 39-Fisherman's Wharf

Regularly scheduled buses will operate both ways between the Transbay Temporary Terminal and Emeryville, allowing passengers to connect between trains and San Francisco. Passengers may also use BART service to connect to and from San Francisco.

Passengers boarding buses at the Transbay Temporary Terminal should allow additional time getting to the station due to street closures and congestion in the area.

<![CDATA[Coast Starlight Trains 11 and 14 Parlour Car Temporarily Removed]]> Effective through March 4, 2016

Please be aware that the Pacific Parlour Car has been removed from the Coast Starlight for maintenance. This change will be in effect through Train 11's arrival in Los Angeles and Train 14's arrival in Seattle on March 4, 2016.

The Dining Car and Sightseer Lounge Car will continue to be available for passengers. During this time the separate Pacific Parlour Car menu, as well as the afternoon wine tasting, will not be offered.

This work will allow the Amtrak mechanical team to perform maintenance on each car to increase its reliability during the peak travel periods. Each car has been evaluated for specific items that need to be addressed to increase the customers' enjoyment of the cars when they return in early March.

We appreciate your patronage and apologize for any inconvenience. Reservation and train status information is available on Amtrak.com, our free mobile apps and at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245).
