<![CDATA[Amtrak Service Alerts & Passenger Service Notices - California ]]> Weblog Editor 2.0 <![CDATA[Lincoln Service and Texas Eagle: Track Work Affects Service between Chicago and St. Louis]]> Effective Thursday and Friday, June 2 and 3, 2016

As construction continues to bring 110 mph speeds to the Lincoln Service, track work will affect the Lincoln Service and Texas Eagle on June 2 and 3, 2016, as follows:

Lincoln Service Trains 301 and 306

Bus Service between St. Louis and Bloomington-Normal

  • Trains 301, 302, 303, 304, 305 and 306 will operate normally between Chicago and Bloomington-Normal. Passengers will be provided bus service in both directions between Lincoln, Springfield, Carlinville, Alton and St. Louis.
  • Buses representing Trains 302, 304 and 306 will depart St. Louis one hour and forty-five minutes earlier than the respective train schedules. Refer to the schedules shown. Buses representing Trains 301, 303 and 305 will operate between Bloomington-Normal and St. Louis at the normal scheduled train times.
  • Trains 300 and 307 will not be affected and will operate normally on June 2 and 3, 2016.
Texas Eagle Trains 21/321/421 and 22/322/422

Service Affected between Chicago and St. Louis

  • Southbound Train 21/421 will detour between Chicago and St. Louis on June 2 and 3, 2016, and will not stop at Joliet, Pontiac, Bloomington-Normal, Lincoln, Springfield, Carlinville and Alton.
  • Northbound Train 22/422 will operate as scheduled to St. Louis. On June 2 and 3, 2016, the train will detour between St. Louis and Chicago, and will not stop at any intermediate stations. Passengers on Train 22/422 destined for Chicago will remain on the train. Passengers on Train 22/422 traveling to stations between St. Louis and Chicago will get off the train in St. Louis and board a bus to their destination. The bus will only stop to discharge passengers.
  • Trains 321 and 322 will be canceled on June 2 and 3, 2016.
  • Passengers requiring travel to or from Joliet, Pontiac, Bloomington-Normal, Lincoln, Springfield, Carlinville and Alton can make reservations aboard the Lincoln Service train/alternate bus service.
  • Possible Delays: The Texas Eagle can encounter delays of up to 45 minutes traveling on the detour.

<![CDATA[Texas Eagle Train 21/421: Bus Service Provided at Shreveport, Marshall and Longview]]> Effective May 10 - 25, 2016

Due to Union Pacific track work, Train 21/421 will detour between Texarkana and Mineola, and will not stop at Marshall or Longview from May 10 through May 25. To accommodate our customers during this period, our current Thruway bus service to and from Shreveport will be adjusted to serve both Marshall and Longview, as follows:

Boarding at Shreveport, Marshall and Longview: Passengers boarding at Shreveport, Marshall and Longview will board Thruway bus 6421 to Mineola, where they will board Train 21/421, serving all remaining stations on the route.

Travel to Marshall, Longview and Shreveport:

  • Passengers on Train 21/421 who are traveling to Marshall and Longview will detrain at Mineola, where bus service will be provided to their destination.
  • Passengers on Train 21/421 who are scheduled to detrain in Longview and board Thruway bus 6121 to Shreveport, will instead detrain at Mineola and board the bus to the Shreveport.

Thruway Bus 6021 Connection at Longview: During this period, Thruway bus 6021 will originate at Mineola, instead of Longview. Passengers scheduled to connect with the Amtrak Thruway bus at Longview will detrain at Mineola, where they will board Bus 6021, making all remaining stops on the route.

During this period, Amtrak personnel will be available at Mineola to assist passengers.

<![CDATA[San Francisco Thruway Bus Stop Restructuring affects Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin Trains]]> Effective May 1, 2016

Effective May 1, 2016 Amtrak will restructure its Transbay San Francisco, CA Thruway bus services.

All Amtrak Coast Starlight and California Zephyr, Capitol Corridor and San Joaquin trains will have bus connection between Emeryville or Oakland and the Temporary Transbay Terminal (SFC) at 200 Folsom Street. This location is staffed by Amtrak, with ticketing, checked baggage (where applicable) and customer service.

A limited number of trains will also have bus connections to Fisherman's Wharf (SFW) at Beach and Pier 39, the Financial District (SFF) at the Hyatt at 5 Embarcadero Center, or the Shopping Center (SFS) at Westfield Mall, 835 Market Street.

Schedule Change

All Thruway service to the following San Francisco bus stops will be discontinued:

  • Caltrain Station (SFP) — last day of service April 30, 2016
  • Moscone Center (SFM) — last day of service April 30, 2016
  • Civic Center (SFV) — last day of service April 29, 2016

<![CDATA[San Joaquins 10-Ride Ticket Policy Change]]> Effective Monday, April 18, 2016

At the request of the San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority (SJJPA), the policy governing the use of 10-ride tickets on the San Joaquins will change effective Monday, April 18, 2016.

What's Changing?

A 10-ride ticket purchased on or after April 18, 2016, can only be used by the passenger whose name is on the ticket and can no longer be transferred or shared by multiple passengers.
