Service Ends February 28, 2015, at the Ferry Building

Amtrak will move its ticket office from the Ferry Building location at the close of business on Saturday, February 28, 2015, and begin serving Transbay Temporary Terminal on Sunday, March 1, 2015. The Transbay Temporary Terminal is located at Folsom and Beale approximately a half mile south of the Ferry building. The entrance to the facility is on Folsom Street between Main and Beale Streets.

The Transbay Temporary Terminal serves passengers connecting to and from San Joaquin, Capitol Corridor, Coast Starlight, California Zephyr and Coast buses from Southern California. Transbay Temporary Terminal will be staffed by Amtrak personnel and offer all services that were available at the Ferry Building, including checked baggage, ticketing, and passenger services. The hours of operation will also remain the same.

All tickets issued prior to March 1, 2015, will list the Ferry Building. However, passengers traveling on or after March 1, 2015, with tickets for the Ferry Building will use the Transbay Temporary Terminal.

Security Check

Upon entering the facility, passengers must show your Amtrak ticket or photo I.D. to the Greyhound Security Staff. Greyhound security will also inspect bags and wand passengers for metal contraband who enter the building. Please allow additional time arriving for this process. Thruway buses will board at Bus Bays #7 and #8.

Ferry Building Option

The Thruway bus stop at the Hyatt Hotel (5 Embarcadero Center) is conveniently located 2 blocks west of the Ferry Building station. All trains will have a Thruway bus connection at the Hyatt effective March 1, 2015.

New Thruway Schedules Coming Soon

All other San Francisco bus stops will remain at their present location, however, there may be some altering of bus departure and arrival times due to the bus route changes. A new schedule will be released prior to the March 1, 2015, effective date.

Track work being performed by Union Pacific Railroad will affect Coast Starlight service, as described below:

Southbound Coast Starlight Trains 11 and 1101

Southbound Coast Starlight Train 1101, originating in Seattle, will terminate at Portland on the dates shown above. At Portland, all passengers will detrain and board a bus that will make stops at Salem, Albany and Eugene. At Eugene, passengers will board southbound Train 11 destined for Los Angeles and intermediate stations.

Northbound Coast Starlight Trains 14 and 1401

Northbound Coast Starlight, originating in Los Angeles, will terminate at Eugene on the dates shown above. At Eugene, all passengers will detrain and board a bus that will make stops at Albany, Salem and Portland. At Portland, passengers will board northbound Coast Starlight Train 1401 destined for Seattle and intermediate stations.

<![CDATA[Eastbound Sunset Limited Train 2/422 Departs Earlier from Los Angeles to El Paso]]> Effective January 28 - March 22, 2015

On the dates shown above, eastbound Train 2/422 will depart Los Angeles at 8:00 pm, two hours earlier than the normal schedule, and operate two hours earlier at all stations through its arrival in El Paso.

Arizona does not observe Daylight Saving Time. Arizona schedule will be one hour earlier instead of two hours, beginning with the spring time change on March 8, 2015. The most-up-to-date schedules are shown on Amtrak.com.

This temporary schedule change is due to track work being performed by Union Pacific Railroad. 

Eastbound Train 2/422 Connections

Due to the earlier departure of Train 2/422, Coast Starlight Train 11 and Pacific Surfliner trains will not make connections with Train 2/422. Passengers can contact Amtrak for connection options.

Beginning January 12 through March 12, 2015, the Pacific Parlour Car will be removed from the Coast Starlight trains for maintenance. During this period, the Dining Car and Sightseer Lounge Car will continue to be available for passengers.
