Track work being performed by North County Transit District will affect Pacific Surfliner service, on the dates shown below:

Fridays: May 19, 2017

Trains 592 and 796 will operate normally to Oceanside, where bus service will be provided to Solana Beach, Old Town San Diego and downtown San Diego.

Saturday and Sunday, May 20 and 21, 2017
  • Trains 562, 565, 579 and 592 will be canceled. Passengers can make reservations aboard other Amtrak trains.
  • Southbound Trains 564, 572, 580, 582, 768, 774, 784, 796 and 1566 will operate normally to Oceanside, where express bus service will be provided from Oceanside to Solana Beach, Old Town and downtown San Diego only.
  • Northbound Trains 573, 583, 591, 595, 763, 769, 777, 785, 1567 and 1761 will not operate from San Diego to Oceanside. Bus service will be provided for all trains (except Train 1761) from downtown San Diego to Oceanside and from Solana Beach to Oceanside only.
    • Upon arriving at Oceanside, passengers will board their respective trains. Northbound buses will depart earlier than the corresponding train. Contact Amtrak for bus schedules.
    • Buses will not stop at Sorrento Valley, Encinitas, Carlsbad-Poinsettia or Carlsbad Village.

<![CDATA[Lincoln Service and Texas Eagle: Track Work Affects Service between Chicago and St. Louis]]> Effective through May 24, 2017

Construction continues to bring higher speeds to the Lincoln Service. On the dates indicated below, track work will affect the Lincoln Service and Texas Eagle between Chicago and St. Louis.

Saturday May 20 - Wednesday, May 24: Train 300
  • On Saturday, May 20, Train 300 will originate at Lincoln. Bus service will be provided from Springfield to Lincoln, but will not be available from St. Louis, Alton or Carlinville.
  • On Sunday, May 21 through Wednesday, May 24, Train 300 will originate at Bloomington-Normal. Bus service will be provided at all stations from Springfield to Bloomington-Normal, only. Service will not be available from St. Louis, Alton or Carlinville.
Saturday May 20 - Tuesday, May 23: Trains 301 - 307

Trains 301-307 will operate between Chicago and Bloomington-Normal only on May 20 through May 23. Bus service will be provided to and from Lincoln, Springfield, Carlinville, Alton and St. Louis.

Wednesday, May 24: Train 302

Train 302 will operate from Bloomington-Normal to Chicago only on May 24. Bus service will be provided at all stations from St. Louis to Bloomington-Normal. Trains 301, 303, 304, 305, 306, and 307 will operate normally.

May 20 - 24: All Buses Depart Earlier

Throughout this track work project, the buses will depart earlier than the respective trains. Check with Amtrak for the most up-to-date bus schedules.

Effective through Tuesday May 23: Texas Eagle Trains 21/321/421 and 22/322/422
  • Train 21/421 will depart Chicago two hours earlier, at 11:45 am, and will depart St. Louis at the normal scheduled time of 7:55 pm.
  • Southbound Train 21/421 will detour between Chicago and St. Louis from May 16 through May 23, and will not stop at Joliet, Pontiac, Bloomington-Normal, Lincoln, Springfield, Carlinville and Alton. Customers traveling to or from these stations can make reservations aboard available Lincoln Service trains or buses.
  • Northbound Train 22/422 will operate as scheduled to St. Louis. From May 16 through May 23, the train will detour between St. Louis and Chicago, and will not stop at Alton, Carlinville, Springfield, Lincoln, Bloomington-Normal, Pontiac and Joliet. Customers on Train 22/422 destined for Chicago will remain on the train. Customers on Train 22/422 ticketed to stations between St. Louis and Joliet will be provided bus service to their destinations.
  • Customers traveling to or from Joliet, Pontiac, Bloomington-Normal, Lincoln, Springfield, Carlinville and Alton can make reservations aboard the Lincoln Service trains or alternate buses.
  • Possible Delays: The Texas Eagle may encounter delays of up to 45 minutes traveling on the detour, in addition to the two hours of time added to the train’s timetable in each direction.
  • Trains 321 and 322 are canceled.

<![CDATA[San Joaquins 10-Ride Tickets Become Effective for 60 Days]]> Effective May 1, 2017

At the request of the San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority (SJJPA), the policy governing the use of 10-ride tickets on the San Joaquins will change, effective May 1, 2017.

What's Changing?

The validity period for 10-ride ticket for the San Joaquins will be extended from 45 days to 60 days. The change will apply to 10-ride tickets issued on or after May 1, 2017. Tickets issued prior to May 1, 2017, will retain the 45 day validity period. For questions about this policy change, contact SJJPA.
