From March 1 through April 5, 2017*, eastbound Train 2/422 will depart Los Angeles at 8 pm, two hours earlier than the normal schedule. The train will operate two hours earlier at all stations through its arrival in San Antonio at 2:50 am. Train 2/422 will depart San Antonio at its normally scheduled time of 6:25 am. This temporary schedule change is due to track work being performed by Union Pacific Railroad.
*Please note that Train 2/422 will not operate two hours earlier on March 12, 2017.
Due to the earlier operation of Train 2/422, northbound Coast Starlight Train 11 will not arrive in Los Angeles early enough for passengers to connect to Train 2/422. Train 11 customers who are connecting to Train 2/422 should detrain in Sacramento. At Sacramento, bus service will be provided to Los Angeles, where customers can board the train.
Pacific Surfliner and San Joaquin customers who will not make their connection to Train 2/422 can contact Amtrak for train service options.
Train 2/422 will resume its normal departure time at San Antonio (6:25 am), and operate at all remaining stations on the route according to the published schedule.
