San Joaquins Adds New 7th Daily Round Trip

First Expansion of Service in Over 14 Years for the San Joaquins

The San Joaquins will inaugurate their 7th daily round trip on on June 20, 2016. The additional daily round-trip train service is being added between Bakersfield and Oakland's Jack London Square Station — making it more convenient for passengers to travel between the Bay Area, San Joaquin Valley cities, and other destinations throughout California.

The San Joaquins is Amtrak's fifth busiest route with 365 miles of track, 18 stations, 1.1 million annual riders and provides a safe, comfortable, reliable way to travel throughout California. With the new 7th daily round-trip, the San Joaquins now has five daily trips between Bakersfield and Oakland and two daily round-trips between Bakersfield and Sacramento. In addition to the train service, Amtrak San Joaquins Thruway buses provide connecting service to 135 destinations in California and Nevada including Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Napa Valley, Las Vegas and Reno.
