Palm Springs Station Accessibility Subject to Change

Effective Immediately

Due to frequent high winds and sandstorms at and around the Palm Springs, CA, station, Amtrak may temporarily suspend service to this location.

Local sandstorms can cause sand drifts near the station, making it unsafe for our passengers. We are working with our host railroad, Union Pacific, and the City of Palm Springs to implement a long-term solution.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the weather, service may be suspended without notice after the train has departed the origin location. If this occurs, the train crew will notify affected passengers onboard.

  • Trains 1 and 421 passengers will be taken to Los Angeles Union Station and accommodated accordingly.
  • Trains 2 and 422 passengers ticketed to detrain at Palm Springs will detrain at Pomona/Ontario, with no alternate transportation provided.
  • Passengers ticketed to board at Palm Springs will be contacted to make alternate arrangements.
