Coast Starlight and Pacific Surfliner Service Adjustments

Effective October 23 - 26, 2026

To accommodate infrastructure work, service on the Coast Starlight and Pacific Surfliner will be adjusted as follows:

Coast Starlight

  • Train 11, departing Seattle (SEA) on October 23 and 24 will terminate at Emeryville (EMY) on October 24 and 25.
    • Alternate transportation will be provided between Sacramento (SAC) and Los Angeles (LAX) via Gold Runner service.
  • Train 14, which normally operates between Los Angeles (LAX) and Seattle (SEA), will originate at Emeryville (EMY) on October 25 and 26.
    • Alternate transportation will be provided between Los Angeles (LAX) and Martinez (MTZ) via Gold Runner service.

Pacific Surfliner

On Saturday, October 24:

  • Train 794 will operate as Train 1594 from San Luis Obispo (SLO) to Van Nuys (VNC), as Bus 4894 from Van Nuys (VNC) to Los Angeles (LAX) and as Train 794 from Los Angeles (LAX) to San Diego (SAN).

On Sunday, October 25 the following trains will have alternate transportation provided between Los Angeles (LAX) and Van Nuys (VNC):

Southbound Trains

  • Train 770 will operate as Train 1570 from Goleta (GTA) to Van Nuys (VNC), as Bus 4870 from Van Nuys (VNC) to Los Angeles (LAX) and as Train 770 from Los Angeles (LAX) to San Diego (SAN).
  • Train 774 will operate as Train 1574 from San Luis Obispo (SLO) to Van Nuys (VNC), as Bus 4874 from Van Nuys (VNC) to Los Angeles (LAX) and as Train 774 from Los Angeles (LAX) to San Diego (SAN).
  • Train 782 will operate as Train 1582 from Goleta (GTA) to Van Nuys (VNC), as Bus 4884 from Van Nuys (VNC) to Los Angeles (LAX) and as Train 782 from Los Angeles (LAX) to San Diego (SAN).
  • Train 790 will operate as Train 1590 from Goleta (GTA) to Van Nuys (VNC), as Bus 4890 from Van Nuys (VNC) to Los Angeles (LAX) and as Train 790 from Los Angeles (LAX) to San Diego (SAN).
  • Train 794 will operate as Train 1594 from San Luis Obispo (SLO) to Van Nuys (VNC), as Bus 4894 from Van Nuys (VNC) to Los Angeles (LAX) and as Train 794 from Los Angeles (LAX) to San Diego (SAN).
  • Train 786, which normally operates between San Luis Obispo (SLO) and San Diego (SAN), will originate at Los Angeles (LAX) with no alternate transportation between San Luis Obispo (SLO) and Los Angeles (LAX).

Northbound Trains

  • Train 761 will operate as Train 761 from San Diego (SAN) to Los Angeles (LAX), as Bus 4861 from Los Angeles (LAX) to Van Nuys (VNC) and as Train 1561 from Van Nuys (VNC) to Goleta (GTA).
  • Train 765 will operate as Train 765 from San Diego (SAN) to Los Angeles (LAX), as Bus 4865 from Los Angeles (LAX) to Van Nuys (VNC) and as Train 1565 from Van Nuys (VNC) to San Luis Obispo (SLO).
  • Train 769 will operate as Train 769 from San Diego (SAN) to Los Angeles (LAX), as Bus 4869 from Los Angeles (LAX) to Van Nuys (VNC) and as Train 1569 from Van Nuys (VNC) to Goleta (GTA).
  • Train 777 will operate as Train 777 from San Diego (SAN) to Los Angeles (LAX), as Bus 4877 from Los Angeles (LAX) to Van Nuys (VNC) and as Train 1577 from Van Nuys (VNC) to San Luis Obispo (SLO).
  • Train 785 will operate as Train 785 from San Diego (SAN) to Los Angeles (LAX), as Bus 4885 from Los Angeles (LAX) to Van Nuys (VNC) and as Train 1585 from Van Nuys (VNC) to Goleta (GTA).
  • Train 757, which normally operates between Los Angeles (LAX) and San Luis Obispo (SLO), is canceled in its entirety with no alternate transportation.

No alternate transportation will be provided at Burbank Airport (BUR), Burbank (BKK) and Glendale (GDL).
