Personal Electronic Devices and Route Podcasts

Bring Your Entertainment Onboard

We invite our passengers to use their personal electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, DVD and CD players onboard. Most First and Business Class seats as well as sleepers have standard 110-volt electrical power outlets to supply power for electronic devices. Outlets are more limited at Coach Class seats.

To maintain a pleasant environment for all aboard, passengers using laptops, tablets, CD or DVD players, and all other audio/visual devices should use earphones or headphones, with the volume on low. We also ask that you switch all devices to silent mode.

Free Amtrak Route Podcasts on Select Train Routes

Free Amtrak Route Podcasts Amtrak, the National Park Service's Trails and Rails Program, and the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences at Texas A&M University have created audio podcasts to enhance your travel experience on the Sunset Limited (New Orleans - Los Angeles) and Texas Eagle trains (Chicago - San Antonio - Los Angeles). Use the podcasts as your free trip guide to learn more about your Amtrak journey and points of interest along the way.
