Homewood, IL Elevator Outage

Effective September 2, 2026

The elevator at the Homewood, IL (HMW) train station is out of service and will remain unavailable until further notice due to required repairs.

Please note the following important information for your travel planning:

  • No Elevator Access: At this time, the elevator cannot be used.
  • Platform Access: The only way to access the platform is via a steep staircase.

We strongly encourage passengers who may have difficulty using stairs, including those with mobility challenges or heavy luggage, to make alternate travel arrangements. Customers should consider Chicago Union Station (CHI) as an alternative option.
