Lewistown Station Undergoing Renovations

Effective April 7, 2026

The Amtrak ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Improvement Project at the Lewistown, PA, Station will begin April 7 through spring 2027. Train service will operate normally during renovations.


What to Expect

  • The station waiting room will be closed with a trailer in the parking lot serving as a temporary waiting room with restrooms available.
  • Parking will be limited during construction. Please refrain from leaving vehicles overnight.
  • Phase two of the project will allow limited access to the renovated building and directional signage for passengers from the parking lot to the partial platform.
  • When the project is completed, the station will have the following: a platform improved for accessibility, LED lighting and signage, a new drop-off zone and ADA parking spaces, refreshed restrooms, a new HVAC system and a new entrance door and windows in the waiting room.


Allow Extra Time – Don’t Miss Your Train

Allow extra time to get from the parking lot to the boarding platforms during construction.
