Connecting Bus Service Operates Between Washington, DC and Richmond

Effective March 16, 2026

Until further notice, Amtrak chartered bus service will operate twice daily connecting service between Washington, DC, Union Station and Richmond Staples Mill and Richmond Main Street beginning March 16, 2026, in support of trackwork related to the Long Bridge replacement project over the Potomac River.

Tickets are available with connections from Washington, DC, Union Station, as well as Northeast Regional and Acela trains:

Southbound – Bus 4141 and 4085 (Weekdays)

  • Depart Washington Union Station at 12:15 pm and 7:05 pm
  • Depart Richmond Staples Mill at 2:15 pm and 9:05 pm
  • Arrive at Richmond Main Street at 2:35 pm and 9:25 pm

Southbound – Bus 4143 and 4195 (Weekends)

  • Depart Washington Union Station at 2:10 pm and 3:30 pm
  • Depart Richmond Staples Mill at 4:35 pm and 5:55 pm
  • Arrive at Richmond Main Street at 4:55 pm and 6:15 pm

Northbound – Bus 4174 and 4274 (daily)

  • Depart Richmond Staples Mill at 7:00 am
  • Depart Richmond Main Street at 7:30 am
  • Arrive at Washington Union Station at 9:20 am and 10:00 am
