On August 24th we left Seattle on the Empire Building to Chicago and then onto Pontiac, Michigan. This was the first time my grandson had been on a sleeper. We went first class and he slept in the top bed.
My grandson is nine years old. The excitement on his face as we left King Station is one I will not forget. Eating in the Dining Car and talking with other diners was a great education for him.
It was a great trip, great Amtrak crew, and a great time for us to spend together. It is a trip we both will remember for a lifetime.
