Gastonia, North Carolina
While looking for a short train ride from either Gastonia or Charlotte, I found the special train stops for the Lexington BBQ Festival. So I bought some tickets and off we went.
Waiting for the train to come was fun and then boarding and finding very kind and helpful conductors was so great for us inexperienced riders. We found it very roomy and comfortable and enjoyed the short ride to Lexington.
The festival was very, very crowded and a lot was going on on Main Street. There were six stages with all types of music and a special stage for children with some great acts. Of course the BBQ sandwiches, ice cream and fried desserts were awesome. Too bad the lines were so long. I have just touched on what all was going on that day.
We hope to make next year’s trip to the North Carolina State Fair via train. Thanks again to all the people involved in the trip.
