When we retired to Arkansas, I wasn't sure how visiting family in Chicago area by myself would work. I discovered the train came through Malvern, only 18 miles from our home and could use public transportation in Chicago to get to my daughter's home. What a relief, not to have to try to get to airport in Chicago and Little Rock.
I leave Chicago at 3:00 in afternoon, have a great dinner on train, sleep overnight and look at sights, especially from Observation Cars until I reach home. No weather worries, security lines or getting family to try and find me at airport. The staff on the trains look after me like I was their grandmother, making sure I have anything I need to enjoy my trip.

Thanks, Amtrak.
