I love to travel. Being able to experience new places and new things is something that I truly love doing. A few years ago I made a promise to myself that I would travel somewhere new every year — no matter what.
In October 2012 I found myself looking for new experiences. After looking on the internet and talking to a good friend about train travel I found myself on the Amtrak website looking at USA Rail Passes. “What a deal!” I thought to myself.
After sorting my itinerary I was off to travel for the next 29 days. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I had the opportunity to see friends I had not seen in years and saw some of the most beautiful places this country has to offer. I rode on many of the most iconic Amtrak routes and took hundreds of photos.
I started in my hometown of Dallas, Texas and traveled 9,956 miles in 29 days. I stopped in Chicago, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Denver, Salt Lake City and New Orleans. Here are a few of my favorite shots.
