<![CDATA[Amtrak Service Alerts & Passenger Service Notices - West ]]> Weblog Editor 2.0 <![CDATA[Amtrak Cascades and Coast Starlight Train 11: High Speed Rail Construction Affects Schedules at Select Station Between Seattle and Portland]]> Effective through Late Summer, 2013

The State of Washington is investing nearly $800 million in federal high speed rail funds for construction projects that will improve reliability throughout the route and expand service between Seattle and Portland. These improvements being performed by BNSF Railway will affect Coast Starlight Train 11 and Amtrak Cascades, as described below:

Southbound Coast Starlight

Train 11 departs 15 minutes earlier from Seattle and all intermediate stations to Portland.

Southbound Amtrak Cascades Service
  • Train 501 arrives at Portland 25 minutes later at 11:25 am.
  • Train 507 arrives at Portland 10 minutes later at 6:00 pm.
  • Train 509 departs 10 minutes later from Portland to Eugene and all intermediate stations. Southbound Thruway Bus 5609 will not connect with Train 509.
  • Train 513 arrives at Portland 25 minutes later at 3:20 pm.
Northbound Amtrak Cascades Service
  • Train 500 arrives at Seattle 25 minutes later at 12:25 pm.
  • Train 506 arrives at Seattle 25 minutes later at 4:10 pm.
  • Train 508 arrives at Seattle 10 minutes later at 9:55 pm.
  • Train 516 departs 20 minutes earlier from Portland to Seattle and all intermediate stations.

All other trains along the route will operate normally.
