Track work being performed by BNSF Railway, will affect San Joaquin service on January 25, 26 and 27, as described below:

Northbound Train 703

Train 703, which normally operates between Bakersfield and Sacramento, will operate from Bakersfield to Merced, where passengers will detrain and board a bus to Modesto and Stockton. At Stockton, passengers will transfer to a different train, which will operate according to Train 703's normal route to Sacramento. Please note that the train will depart Stockton approximately 45 minutes later than the published schedule for Train 703.

Southbound Train 718

Train 718, which normally operates between Oakland and Bakersfield, will operate from Oakland to Stockton, where passengers detrain and board a bus to Modesto and Merced. At Merced, passengers will transfer to a different train, which will operate according to Train 718’s normal route to Bakersfield. Please note that the train will depart Merced approximately 30 minutes later than the published schedule for train 718.

Denair (Turlock) Service Temporarily Cancelled

Service to Denair (Turlock) will be cancelled on January 25, 26 and 27. Passengers may make reservations aboard other San Joaquin trains serving Denair (Turlock).

San Joaquin Service: Possible Delays

All San Joaquin trains may encounter delays of up to 15 minutes on January 25, 26 and 27.

<![CDATA[Pacific Surfliner Trains 768 and 785: Track Work Affects Service between Goleta and Los Angeles]]> Effective January 24 and 25, 2015

Track work being performed by Union Pacific Railroad will affect Trains 768 and 785, as described below:

  • Saturday, January 24, 2015: Train 785
    Train 785, which normally operates between San Diego and Goleta, will terminate in Los Angeles, where bus service will be provided to all remaining stations on the route. Buses will stop to discharge passengers only. Passengers cannot board the bus at these stations. Buses may arrive later than published train schedule at destination depending on traffic. Contact Amtrak or visit Amtrak.com to obtain bus schedules.
  • Sunday, January 25, 2015: Train 768
    Train 768, which normally originates in Goleta, will operate from Los Angeles to San Diego. Bus service will be provided from Goleta, Santa Barbara, Ventura and Oxnard direct to Los Angeles, only. Passengers traveling to and from stations (Moorpark through Glendale) which are not served by alternate bus service can board later Train 774 as an option.

<![CDATA[Eastbound Sunset Limited Train 2/422 Departs Earlier from Los Angeles to El Paso]]> Effective January 28 - March 22, 2015

On the dates shown above, eastbound Train 2/422 will depart Los Angeles at 8:00 pm, two hours earlier than the normal schedule, and operate two hours earlier at all stations through its arrival in El Paso.

Arizona does not observe Daylight Saving Time. Arizona schedule will be one hour earlier instead of two hours, beginning with the spring time change on March 8, 2015. The most-up-to-date schedules are shown on Amtrak.com.

This temporary schedule change is due to track work being performed by Union Pacific Railroad. 

Eastbound Train 2/422 Connections

Due to the earlier departure of Train 2/422, Coast Starlight Train 11 and Pacific Surfliner trains will not make connections with Train 2/422. Passengers can contact Amtrak for connection options.

Southbound Coast Starlight Trains 11 and 1101

Southbound Coast Starlight Train 1101, originating in Seattle, will terminate at Portland on the dates shown above. At Portland, all passengers will detrain and board a bus that will make stops at Salem, Albany and Eugene. At Eugene, passengers will board southbound Train 11 destined for Los Angeles and intermediate stations.

Northbound Coast Starlight Trains 14 and 1401

Northbound Coast Starlight, originating in Los Angeles, will terminate at Eugene on the dates shown above. At Eugene, all passengers will detrain and board a bus that will make stops at Albany, Salem and Portland. At Portland, passengers will board northbound Coast Starlight Train 1401 destined for Seattle and intermediate stations.
