Extensive roadway construction being performed by Caltrans along Highway 50 near downtown Sacramento will affect Amtrak Thruway Bus Service, as described below:
Starting April 22 through May 21, Thruway Bus 3424 which operates between Sacramento, Placerville and South Lake Tahoe, will encounter delays due to roadway detours and anticipated heavy traffic resulting from the construction project.
Due to the anticipated severe traffic congestion in the downtown Sacramento area as a result of an extensive roadway construction project being performed by Caltrans, westbound Thruway Bus 3447 connecting to the Capitol Corridor at Sacramento will operate 20 minutes earlier between May 27 and June 25, 2014.
This modified schedule will allow Bus 3447 to maintain its connection with Capitol Corridor Trains 547 (weekdays) and 747 (weekends) at the Sacramento Valley station. The arrival time at Sacramento will not change.
