Tell Us Your Story

Trains are full of history, memories and wonderful stories — we want to hear your Amtrak tales and post them on Whistle Stop.

Did you spend a family vacation on the Empire Builder? Did you propose to your wife on the Lake Shore Limited? Did your grandfather take you on a fishing trip via the Vermonter? Did you meet a movie star while riding the Pacific Surfliner? What do you like the most about riding the train? How did your passion for the rails come about?

Submit your story (and your best photographs from your trips if you want) below and check the boxes authorizing its use. While we will not change the meaning of your story, Amtrak may edit your submission for proper spelling and grammar. Not all stories submitted will be posted.

Stories are limited to 6000 characters (about 1000 words). You must be 13 years of age or older to submit a story.

Fill in the fields below to send us your story. Bold items are required.
