Becoming an Amtrak business partner has never been easier.
Amtrak understands the value and benefits that result from partnering with a diverse array of suppliers of goods and services. Amtrak is committed to ensuring that small business (SB), concerns, as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), disadvantaged business enterprises (DBEs), defined in accordance with the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT), Unified Certification Program (UCP), and other diverse firms are given full and equal consideration in Amtrak's procurement opportunities.
Amtrak provides procurement opportunities for goods and services ranging from common hardware, electrical, plumbing, cleaners and solvents, tools and shop supplies, to fuels and lubricants delivered to storage tanks or directly to locomotives at locations across the United States. We procure construction materials as well as construction services.
If you manufacture or distribute railroad specific materials such as passenger car parts, locomotive parts, and maintenance of way material, including electric traction and communication and signal, Amtrak has the opportunities. However, they don't stop there. Amtrak procures services that include marketing, computer system design and implementation, architecture and engineering, environmental consulting and remediation, security, legal, signage, transportation, and much more.
Small Business concerns registered with the U.S. SBA and/or Disadvantaged Business Enterprises certified under the U.S. DOTs UCP are acceptable to Amtrak as verification of SB or DBE status. Amtrak also recognizes the National Minority Supplier Development Council, Women's Business Enterprise National Council, and U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs certifications for other diverse firms.
SB concerns and DBEs will be given maximum practicable opportunities to compete for contracts funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). To demonstrate our commitment, Amtrak has established goals for SB and DBE utilization and a webpage to provide additional information on its Supplier Diversity program. Learn more about ARRA Procurement opportunities by visiting Amtrak at http://procurement.amtrak.com. While there, look for Amtrak's Business Profile Form on the “Small Business/DBE tab”, complete and return it to be listed in the Amtrak Directory for future solicitation consideration by Amtrak's Contracting Agents and Prime Contractors.
