As part of an ongoing effort to streamline the Amtrak.com login process and to communicate more effectively with our customers, we are changing the way registered users log into their User Profiles.
Effective February 24, 2008, customers will be required to change their User ID to an e-mail address to log into Amtrak.com.
When you first log into your User Profile using the User ID you created when you initially registered on Amtrak.com, you will be automatically prompted to select an e-mail address as your new ID. The e-mail address currently in your User Profile will be selected as your new ID by default, but you will have an opportunity to enter a different e-mail address before completing the update.
Important: Once you successfully update your User Profile, you will log into Amtrak.com using the e-mail address you specified, not your old User ID.
No other information in your User Profile will change. Your 'User Information,' 'Billing Address,' 'Mailing Address,' 'Travel Profile' and 'Amtrak Updates' preferences will remain unchanged.
All current 'Confirmed Reservations' and 'Saved Plans' will remain in your User Profile.
If you do not update your User Profile you will not be able to log into Amtrak.com, and you will not be able to enjoy the benefits of being a registered user. The information in your User Profile will remain unchanged until you update your User ID.
We recognize that some customers may have more than one User Profile sharing the same e-mail address. Each of these User Profiles will need to be updated with a unique e-mail address.
This change will not affect how you log into your account at Amtrakguestrewards.com; you will continue to use your member number to login there.
