Nominated by President George W. Bush as a Director of the Amtrak Board in May 2007 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in March, 2008, Ms. Naples currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board. Previously she served as New York State Commissioner of Motor Vehicles under Governor George Pataki. She began her career in public service in 1993 when she was elected Erie County (N.Y.) Comptroller, a position she held until 2005. She began her career on Wall Street where she spent 20 years, serving as an Assistant Vice President of the former Chemical Bank, Vice President of Merrill Lynch & Co., and Vice President of Hong Kong Bank (HSBC). Preceding her election as Comptroller, she was Vice President of Finance and Operations for Joseph J. Naples & Associates. She is a graduate of Marymount College of Fordham University and earned a Master of Business Administration from Pace University.
