Amtrak understands the value and benefits that result from partnering with a diverse array of suppliers of goods and services. Through our Procurement Department, Amtrak is committed to ensuring that Small Business concerns and disadvantaged business enterprises are given full and equal consideration in Amtrak's procurement opportunities.
Amtrak looks to provide its vendor base competitive pricing opportunities for traditional items such as, but are not limited to, hardware, electrical, plumbing, building materials, fuels & lubricants, cleaners & solvents, tools and shop supplies. We also procure more railroad specific materials such as passenger car parts, locomotive parts, electric traction overhead catenary system parts and structural steel fabrications, communication and signal material and maintenance of way material. Services might include marketing, computer software and systems design, construction, professional engineering, consulting and environmental services and materials transport.
Small business concerns and disadvantaged business enterprises interested in contracting with Amtrak are encouraged to list their product offerings by certifying with the Small Business Administration and the States' Department of Transportation agencies.
