Wi-Fi Now Available
Look for the following networks to connect:
Available via AmtrakConnect, our Wi-Fi service is free of charge. Whether you're using a mobile device or a laptop, stay productive while you're en route to your destination.
AmtrakConnect Wi-Fi is available on all Acela Express trains, in all ClubAcela lounges and inside the following stations:
Step 1: Using any Wi-Fi enabled laptop or other portable device, look in your list of available wireless networks for the following:
Any other network is not an official AmtrakConnect network
Step 2: Select the network name.
Step 3: Open or refresh your browser; you should see the AmtrakConnect welcome screen at this point.
Step 4: Click "I Agree. Get Connected" to proceed to the Internet.
You must complete all of the above four steps before you can access the Internet.
Onboard Acela Express, AmtrakConnect blocks access to streaming video and restricts file downloads larger than 10 MB in order to provide all of our passengers with the best possible network experience. These restrictions do not apply to in-station Wi-Fi.
Amtrak follows similar guidelines shared by many companies who offer Wi-Fi in a public space, in that we will block content deemed to be inappropriate for public viewing. If you have encountered a website which you feel has been incorrectly blocked by our automatic filter, let us know. We can honor appropriate requests to unblock specific sites.
You will be able to use AmtrakConnect through any laptop or other portable device that is Wi-Fi enabled.
Try restarting your laptop or portable device and reconnecting to the network. If problem persists, you may need to refer to the manual for your device or consult your manufacturer for more information.
If your employer has provided you with a Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution, you should be able to access your corporate network. We have tested most standard VPN solutions and found many to work, however, there have been instances where specific company VPN solutions have not connected. If you encounter this problem, the easiest resolution is to speak with your company IT representative to see if your device can be adjusted to allow for VPN connectivity while onboard Acela Express.
While Amtrak strives to deliver the best Internet experience possible, we cannot guarantee the delivery of a specific Internet speed to passengers. Performance of the network will vary as the train travels along the route and is determined by the proximity of cell towers and strength of wireless signals at any given location. We continue to look at solutions which will improve the speed and connectivity of our network.
Amtrak is evaluating opportunities to implement Wi-Fi on other trains. Look for more information about this in the months ahead.
For general comments or questions about the service, your feedback is welcome. For specific technical support questions, please refer to the manual for your device or consult your manufacturer.
